Brittany Vermeer draws on her journalistic roots, and her knack for storytelling, to create captivating narratives.
After spending more than a decade as the editorial manager for a national publication and website, I now serve as a freelance editorial consultant and regular contributor to publications like Triathlete Magazine, IRONMAN, Rock ‘n’ Roll Run, 220 Triathlon, and The Equine Chronicle. I also work with companies like Eliel Cycling, Spaero Triathlon, and Zealios to create engaging blog content, branded photography, and email marketing campaigns.
“Brittany consistently delivers engaging, well-researched, and timely articles. Her copy is clean and her straightforward style has helped us create meaningful content that serves our company’s interests and meets the needs of our athletes.”
Jennifer Ward, IRONMAN Editorial Director
As a triathlete, much of my current work can be found within the multi-sport world, but I have the skills and experience to write anything from cover stories and feature articles to captivating copy and social media content. I’ve even published a children’s book!
Through my blog, Triple Threat Life, I hope to inspire, encourage, and empower others to create the life they want. In addition to chronicling my journey through the multi-sport world, I want to use triathlon as a lens through which we can view life and show how the skills learned through sport can be used for self-improvement.
Sure, I will use this blog to share race recaps and training insights, but I want it to be more than just a glorified training log. The mission of this blog is to inspire, encourage, and empower others to try new things, embrace optimism, set better goals, and become more confident.
Back in the day, when I was a student-writer for The North Texas Daily and an intern for The Corinth Times, I learned the core principles of journalism: accuracy, honesty, excellence, impartiality, and transparency. Those are values I incorporate into my writing to this day as I strive to create compelling narratives that educate, inform, and entertain.
With a degree in Creative Writing and a minor in Journalism, I’ve been able to blend the best of both worlds to create my own unique style- one that combines the accuracy and professionalism of traditional reporting with the creativity of storytelling. I can tailor this approach to suit many different applications from articles and editorial to blog posts and marketing copy.
In addition to editorial work, I’ve written blog content for Team Zealios and Run Rock ‘n’ Roll, and my work has been distributed through the USAT newsletter. I’ve conducted photo shoots and written copy for marketing campaigns for Eliel Cycling.
I even designed a social media campaign for Spaero Triathlon where I created brand specific photography, conducted video interviews, and did a social media takeover.
Through my experience working with brands, I’m well-versed in the ability to convey a message, create brand trust, enhance community engagement, and inspire action.
